Core Volunteer
What CORE Volunteers do:
Provide personalized support to newcomers
Assist with practical tasks & cultural orientation
Foster a trusting friendship to facilitate open communication
Participate in trainings and team meetings as needed
Benefits (WIIFM?):
Gain valuable case management experience
Engage in cultural exchange and enhance your understanding of refugee issues
Opportunity to practice a second language in a real-world setting
Core Volunteers are essential to maintaining strong community ties and ensuring that our community members have the support they need for as long as they require it. Your involvement helps us make a meaningful difference in the lives of refugees and asylum seekers.
Commitment is to the goal rather than time. Volunteers who are matched with a family are typically investing 4- 6 hours a month for a 6-month long commitment.
