Support Immigrant and Refugee Families and Urge Lawmakers to Vote YES on SB 149!

At Pacific Refugee Support Group (PRSG), we believe in creating a community where every community member has the support they need to thrive. That’s why we’ve been working with over a dozen incredible partners across the state to pass Senate Bill 149, a bill that will create more equitable and inclusive services for Oregon’s immigrant and refugee communities.

We now have less than a month left in the legislative session to make it happen and we would love for you to be a part of the success.

What Is SB 149?

SB 149 encompasses three major initiatives:

  1. Expands who is eligible for extended case management services, right now, only refugees are eligible. This bill includes more immigrant communities.

  2. Allows community-based organizations (CBOs) like PRSG, not only large resettlement agencies, to deliver these services. That means more culturally responsive and community-rooted care.

  3. Expands what qualifies as extended case management, providing a wider range of long-term support to help families truly succeed in their new homes.

Who’s Behind It?

This bill is the result of tireless collaboration between:
PRSG, Innovation Law Lab, ACLU Oregon, Centro, Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon, Catholic Community Services, Salem for Refugees, Corvallis for Refugees, Sacred Organizing Coalition, Latino Network, AFHHO African Family Holistic Health Organization, Afghan Support Network, Asylum Seeker Solidarity Collective, Oregon and SW Washington African Community Development Center, Lutheran Community Services NW, IMIrJ, and IRCO.
